Uninspired Music

This post was inspired by Patreon supporter, Brittany White, who asked:

Random, but are there any songs you guys can think of that remind you of the life of Lewis or his writings that were not intentionally inspired by him?

Britany White

She suggested “Losing My Religion” by Hootie and the Blowfish (cover of the REM classic), as she said it always reminded her of Lewis’ younger years between the loss of his mother, a bad school experience, and the strain he had with his father. She says there’s even a reference to Phantastes

I replied that “Bring Me To Life” by Evanescence always reminds me of “What Happened about the Statues” chapter in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe:

Another Patreon supporter, Grace, said that Jon Foreman’s song “The Ocean Beyond the Sea” reminds her of both Aslan and The Great Divorce.

“I heard a whisper
As soft as iron
As safe as lions
By the ocean beyond the sea”

The Ocean Beyond the Sea, Jon Foreman

Q. Do you have any other suggestions?
