Tolkien & Dune

A new movie adaptation of Frank Herbert’s book, Dune, was just released to cinemas:

In a recent interview with Rod Bennet, I mentioned how I thought that C.S. Lewis would have probably have really enjoyed Herbert’s book and Rod agreed.

However, I recently came across a comment by Tolkien in one of his letters which made me chuckle:

“I dislike DUNE with some intensity, and in that unfortunate case it is much the best and fairest to another author to keep silent and refuse to comment”
