- Andrew spoke about his upcoming tour of the UK. David alluded to this video from LutheranSatire:
- Andrew will be seeing Judith McQuoid, author of Giant, as well as poet Andrew Roycroft (33: Reflections on the Gospel of John) whom he met at the Shepherding Words conference, and Ruth Jackson from The C. S. Lewis Podcast.
- Andrew will be back in Belfast again in August/September to help run a retreat for the C. S. Lewis Institute where he’ll get to spend time with Ross Wilson who did the famous statue of Lewis.
- He recently gave a talk in Augusta, Georgia, where he met some Pints With Jack fans.
- He has another life update, but he can’t share it yet publicly!
- Next year’s Mere Christians conference is moving to Sarasota, Florida, possibly with the folks from Davy Music.
- Dr. Diana Glyer’s new book, Write Like You Mean It: Start Strong, Maintain Momentum, and (Finally!) Get It Done, has been released
- Andrew got two books from Andrew Peterson signed: Adorning the Dark: Thoughts on Community, Calling, and the Mystery of Making and The God of the Garden: Thoughts on Creation, Culture, and the Kingdom, as well as Amy Baik Lee’s This Homeward Ache: How Our Yearning for the Life to Come Spurs on Our Life Today. He also received Every Moment Holy Booklet: Writers & Poets.
- David and Andrew raved about Galahad and the Grail: Merlin’s Isle, Book 1 by Malcolm Guite. Rev. Guite was recently interviewed in a Half Pint video, before he was interviewed by Matt Fradd on Pints With Aquinas!
- Andrew mentioned Little Lea, C. S. Lewis’ childhood home.
04. “David’s Update”
- David bought a Fitbit for $10 on Facebook Marketplace! A year ago he was about 180 lbs, but he’s now ~157 lbs. When he got below 160 lbs he bought himself a Super Nintendo Classic and when he hits his goal of 150lbs he’s going to buy an Apple Developer License and put the various apps he’s been building on the Apple App Store (Spanish flashcard app, NFP app, Peleton App and Desk Exercise app).
- A large part of this has been exercising with his brother-in-law
- He’s been losing weight and getting his blood pressure down with the help of Dr. Alex.
- He may record an episode specifically focussing on it.
- He has been reading Planet Thulcandra: Magic and Science in C. S. Lewis’s That Hideous Strength by Joseph Weigel (David wrote the Forward).
- Pints With Jack now has the audiobook rights for David Downing’s Planets in Peril: A Critical Study of C. S. Lewis’s Ransom Trilogy. Watch this “space”…
- David has been fighting the local government – his neighbour installed a pool close to his backdoor and part of his driveway was replaced.
- He spoke about some of the applications he’s been building with AI:

- Steven Spielberg has been talking a lot about aliens recently… David thinks he needs to read some of Lewis’ essays: Religion and Rocketry and The Seeing Eye.
05. “Andrew joins the 21st Century”
- Andrew has been using AI to help with his Bible studies (and to clear up his picture with The White Witch!)
