A response to Narnian Tulips

Yesterday I recorded an episode with Dr. Leighton Flowers as our Baptist representative in Ecumenism Month. The episode itself will be published next Thursday.

During Ecumenism Month we’re mainly focussing on how Lewis can bring Christians of different denominations together, but due to Dr. Flowers’ work at Soteriology 101, in the latter part of the interview, it seemed natural to discuss Lewis and Calvinism.

As we chatted, we spoke a little bit about the guest whose interview (S5E33) appeared on our podcast feed today, Pastor Douglas Wilson. During our discussion, we referenced some parts of a talk which Pastor Wilson gave at a Desiring God conference about ten years ago:

I haven’t checked the recording, but I think Dr. Flowers and I discussed this subject for about fifteen minutes, but this clearly wasn’t enough for him! This afternoon I went to YouTube and discovered that he was recording a fifty-minute livestream, examining in more detail what Pastor Wilson had to say in his presentation about Narnia and the Calvinism’s TULIP:

Hopefully at some point in the future, I’ll have Pastor Wilson back on the show to talk about his book, What I learned in Narnia, and discuss these issue further!
